Pneumatic Fender is a form of shock-absorbing cushion specially developed and applied to wharf collisions for submarines and some ships in contact with the cushion below sea level.

75 Rubber One member Company Limited (Z175) has successfully researched and manufactured Pneumatic Fender designed in accordance with ISO 17357:2002(E). The product has a circular cylindrical profile, an inflatable compartment in the middle, a hemisphere at both ends, and the buoyancy and characteristics of the mattress can be adjusted.

Pneumatic Fender has many advantages compared to other types of anti-collision fender such as:

The basic structure of a Pneumatic Fender consists of an outer layer of rubber that is resistant to the environment and sea water, in the middle, there are layers of reinforcement and an inner layer of rubber with high air permeability. The rubber layers and the reinforcement layer are closely linked together into a unified block to create durability for the Pneumatic Fender.

The rubber layer of the Pneumatic Fender is made of synthetic rubber material, with high mechanical and physical properties, good environmental resistance, and good sea water resistance. The mechanical and physical properties of the rubber layer are according to Table 2.

Natural rubber

      Natural rubber is the raw material of many products on the market. Natural rubber is derived from the sap of rubber tree, natural latex droplets bond together to form a solid structure, undergoing polymerization to form Isoprene. Therefore, the characteristics of rubber are based on the components present in the latex. If the characteristics of the rubber decline, it is due to the amount of impurities mixed in the rubber.

     Natural rubber is often used to produce latex mattresses, anti-slip materials for roads and bridges, and to produce rubber pipes and rubber sheets for use in shipbuilding and construction industry. Products made from natural rubber have high safety, so they are very interested by the users.

Artificial rubber

      Artificial or synthetic rubber is a man-made plastic with the function of being a relatively good stretcher. Artificial rubber is used to replace natural rubber in many applications of life and production, when its superior properties promote the same effect as natural rubber. Not much worse than natural rubber, the application of sheet rubber from artificial rubber raw materials is widely used in architectural works with very effective heat-insulating effect.

      Artificial rubber is made from the polymerization of single structures consisting of isoprene and isobutylene with a small percentage of isoprene for chain linkage.

      With the difference in structure in terms of physical and chemical properties, the applications of natural rubber and artificial rubber materials are not the same.

     Along with that, in order to improve production and business efficiency, the Company’s leaders have applied new management and Kaizen – 5S program, rearranged technology ground, rationalized production, focused on training, fostering and building a team of technical staffs, managers, and market staffs to meet the Company’s development requirements in the new situation. With a team of highly qualified technical staffs, the Company has researched many topics at the Ministry of National Defense, the General Department levels and many grassroots-level topics applied to production, contributing to increasing labor productivity, improving product quality, saving a lot of materials and labor. As a proof of the achieved results, in May 2019, the Company implemented a contract to manufacture Undersea Insulation-Coated Oil Pipes for Vietsovptro Joint Venture, with a total output of 7000m, required contract execution time is 45 days (including shipping time). Determining that this is a product requiring high technical requirements, fast delivery schedule, the Leaders and Commanders of the Company have paid attention to leading and preparing elements for production (equipment, materials, personnel, etc…), focusing on directing research and innovation, improving product quality, organizing the launching of peak emulation sessions, mobilizing officers and employees to actively work overtime and increase the hours to ensure punctuality, quality according to customer requirements. As a result, labor productivity increased by 1.5 times; the number of employees decreased by 30% compared to before, after 40 days of production, the company completed the order for the Vietsovptro joint venture, maintaining the production of traditional products to ensure quality and progress for customers.

     These achievements are due to the attention of the Ministry of National Defense, the General Department of Military Industries and Manufacture, the dynamism, creativity and self-reliance of the Leaders, Commanders, and staffs; assertiveness, boldness in setting out the right guidelines and directions, it is believed that in the coming years, the Company will continue to make steady development steps, meeting the requirements of serving for the army and the domestic economic sectors and international economic integration.

SOME FIGURES ON PRODUCTION OF UNDERSEA INSULATION-OIL COATED PIPES

        Implementing the Directives and Resolutions of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Prime Minister, the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and the Head of the General Department of Military Industries and Manufacture on the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic, the factory timely established a Steering Committee led by Senior Lieutenant Colonel Phan Chien Thang- Factory Director as the head of the Steering Committee; proactively taking many resolute measures in epidemic prevention and control, such as: Maintaining the implementation of propaganda in various forms, checking the body temperature of staffs, employees and customers entering and exiting the Factory, disinfecting and spraying epidemic prevention drugs; provide active masks for officials and employees; equipped with hand sanitizer solution for departments and workshops; regularly clean floors, toilet door handles, meeting rooms and working rooms with disinfectants; timely requesting officials and employees to declare the moving process; limiting mass meetings; changing the form of shift meals; production organization to ensure a minimum distance of 2m…, the factory has actively controlled and prevented the disease from spreading into the unit so far.

        Along with the implementation of measures to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic for employees, the factory has maintained production according to the plan in accordance with actual conditions, ensuring absolute safety. Currently, the factory is focusing on organizing the production of assigned defense products and contracted economic products. In particular, it highly concentrated on producing undersea oil-insulating pipe coating products for Vietsopevtro; organizing scientific and flexible production management to ensure that the working positions are at least 2m apart�Although there are many difficulties in the production process; operations, coordination between production stages and stages are limited, the factory staffs and employees always show high determination to overcome all difficulties to ensure absolute safety and productivity and quality and progress as planned.

        Promoting the 52-year achievements of the factory’s construction and development, all staffs and employees are determined to overcome all difficulties and work together to perform well the “dual task” of both preventing and controlling the Covid-19 epidemic while stably maintaining production and business development, contributing to successfully completing production and business tasks in the first 6 months of 2020 and setting the highest achievement to welcome the 18th Party Congress, term of 2020-2025.

      Attending the inauguration and handover ceremony, there were Colonel Pham Van Riep – Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Company; Comrade Colonel Tran Van Trong- Political Chairman, Trade-Union Chairman; the delegates of the Political Department; representatives of mass organizations; delegates of the Workshop where the two comrades received the house working; Vietnam National Defense television reporter; delegates of the Party Committee, local authorities and families.

      Both comrades have difficult family circumstances; children are young, often sick; the family economy depends on monthly salary. During the last time, they had to rent a house, their life was not stable. With the help and facilitation of the organization, the efforts of the family of 02 comrades, after more than 03 months of construction, both houses were completed on schedule with guaranteed quality. The support cost is 80 million per comrade, which is extracted by the Ministry of Defense from the fund “the trade-union warm house, comradeship�and the funding of Z175 Factory, the rest is saved by their family and borrowed from relatives.

      The inauguration and handover ceremony of the “the trade-union warm house, comradeship” and “comrade’s house” are a great source of encouragement, showing the deep concern of the Party, State, Army, the General Department of Military Industries and Manufacture and Factory Z175 to officials and employees with difficult circumstances. It is also a precious and beautiful tradition, showing the spirit of solidarity, mutual affection, mutual love, thereby helping comrades quickly settle down, rise up, overcome difficulties and complete all assigned tasks.

      With careful preparation, the inauguration and handover of both houses took place as planned, leaving a good impression and affection on the party committee, government, local people and family. Believing that with the attention, help and facilitation of the Party committees and commanders at all levels, they will stabilize their life in all aspects, build a happy family, continue to make efforts, and strive to complete all tasks in the assigned position.

In implementing Directive No. 16/CT-TTg dated March 31, 2020 of the Prime Minister and Directive No. 17/CT-UBND of Hanoi City People’s Committee on implementation of social distancing for prevention against Covid-19, Z175 Factory is always proactive, creative, and drastic to promote synchronous implementation of epidemic prevention and control measures both inside and outside the unit, specifically:

• The Factory Command and the Steering Committee for Disease Prevention and Control actively grasped the epidemic situation across the country and the area where the unit was located; thoroughly implemented the documents, instructions and directives of the Ministry of National Defense and the General Department of Defense Industry, and coordinated with local authorities in implementing epidemic prevention and control measures; clearly assigned responsibilities to each member of the Steering Committee.
• Maintain strict implementation of the ‘5K’ epidemic prevention measures according to the regulations of the Ministry of Health; disinfect hands, measure body temperature of officers and employees before entering the unit; maintain regular mask wearing and require 100% of officers and employees to register to commit not to go outside unless absolutely necessary.
• Organize the implementation of the â€? togethersâ€?(eat together, live together, work together), ensure a 3-meal-a-day diet for officers and employees temporarily residing outside Z175 residential for epidemic prevention; make use of available infrastructure (kindergarten, military medical establishments, dormitory) to make rooms for officers and employees to stay in the unit; coordinate with Xuan Son Commune Police and Z175 Residential Group to set up 3 pandemic checkpoints at the Residential Group, and minimize contact with outsiders, and maintain absolute safety.
• The factory actively cooperated with the local government where the factory is located, specifically the Health Center of Son Tay Town, on July 28, 2021, to organize vaccination against Covid-19 (1^st dose) for 100% of officers and employees.
• Organize production with maximum distance to limit contact; arrange shifts and work crews reasonably (indirect labor is divided into 02 shifts, and direct labor is divided into 03 shifts) to both ensure good epidemic prevention and meet the progress required by customers and complete assigned tasks.
• Minimize the entry of outsiders into the unit. Customers coming to work or suppliers of goods from provinces must have a negative confirmation for SARS-CoV2 by PT-PCR method within 72 hours or perform an antigen rapid test measure at the Military Medical Center of the unit.
• Promote propaganda on the epidemic situation on the internal radio system, broadcasting at workshops (04 times/day) and through social networks Zalo, Fanpage, etc., to raise awareness for officers and employees; build the will and determination, strive to complete the “dualâ€?task which is ensuring the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic and maintaining production and business development.
